Kukah: Sokoto resident claimed demolition of Catholic Church in the State

As more threats and uncertainty about the safety of the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Hassan Kukah, and the entire Christian community in the state keeps rising, this calls for serious concern.

A Facebook user, Lee John, while reacting to Reno Omokri's post concerning the threats against Bishop Kukah wrote: "Our church in sokoto was demolish on a sunday morning, worshipers were just crying, thank God the build it back".

Omokri had said, "Bishop Kukah will remain in Sokoto."

"Bishop Kukah will thrive in Sokoto."

"Bishop Kukah will win souls to God through Christ in Sokoto."

"If ANYBODY, and I mean ANYBODY, does not like that, then it is that person that should leave Sokoto. Not Bishop Kukah. You need Nigeria. Bishop Kukah and those he represents can survive without Nigeria."

"Imagine the foolishness of these people. You want to prove that Bishop Kukah is wrong about your violent tendencies and you do so by threatening him with violence. By threatening him, who are you de-marketing? Kukah or yourselves? God is love. God is peaceful!"

Meanwhile, John who claimed a Catholic church was demolished in Sokoto, was asked about the time of of the incident and precise location for confirmation.

He said: "Around old airport side, yahaya gusu modern primary school area. It was a catholic Church. That offa road junction go straight, it was demolish with worshipper inside, I was also there's,odor its years back".

He wrote:

A Sokoto-based Islamic cleric, Abubakar Malami, had warned Bishop Kukah to desist from challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s government or risk being crucified.

His warning comes amidst the severe criticisms surrounding the bishop's Christmas message and subsequent statements he has made.

In a viral video, Malami, during a sermon, said if Kukah continues challenging the government, the bishop will be crucified and there will be no one to stop it.

"Not even the government will be able to stop us," he said, towards the end of the video.

The cleric, who spoke in Hausa, said, "Matthew Hassan Kukah is already cursed by Allah.

Therefore, if Kukah challenges the government, he will be crucified. We will not listen to anybody when we are crucifying him, not the government, not even the Sultan of Sokoto."
