Governor Obaseki signed a deal with the Government of Malaysia for the establishment of a University of Innovation in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Speaking to journalists, he disclosed to them that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is part of his administration’s efforts to bring more development into the state to boost the state’s economy and better the lives of Edo people.
The Technology Hub in I.C.E. Road has also been given to the Malaysian partners to manage, as they are bringing a University of Innovation to Benin City to benefit our people.
In the last three years and nine months, the governor said he leveraged on his experience as a seasoned investment banker to bring developmental projects to the state through MoUs with local and international investors.
The 5500bpd Edo Modular Refinery; the 55MW CCTEC-Ossiomo Power Plant; the Benin Enterprise and Industrial Park and the Benin River Port, among other legacy projects of his administration, were all birthed on the back of MoUs with investors he said.
