You could die any moment from now — Ayodele tells Ortom

The Leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Friday, warned that Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, has been blacklisted by his enemies, and could be killed any moment from now.

He said the governor must be extremely careful with his movements and those around him, and most importantly, he should be closer to the God who alone can guarantee his safety.

The cleric also called on Ortom to work on land and ethnicity crisis in some local governments in the State. He said if not properly handled, his government will be destabilized.

He said: ‘’Benue State governor must be careful against attack. He must be careful against accidents; I see plans to assassinate him. He must watch his outings as from now on.

‘’The State should avert ethnicity crisis and land crisis in Apa, Obi, Oju local government. The Governor is a very sincere politician but they want to destabilize his government. He must be careful and pray not to cry over anyone in his cabinet members.’’

Governor Ortom who escaped been killed at his farm some months ago, had previously accused Miyetti Allah of plotting his assassination in a meeting he said the Fulani group held in Yola, Adamawa State. But while Miyetti Allah admitted holding such meeting, it, however, denied Ortom's claims.

"Yes! We held meeting in Adamawa few days before that incident," Bodejo said in an interview with Daily Sun.

"The meeting had impressive representation from government, security agencies, traditional institutions and other stakeholders. After our meeting in Yola, Adamawa State, we set an agenda for our people on how to strengthen peace among themselves and other people.

"But we were surprised that shortly after our meeting on peace building in Adamawa, Benue governor, Ortom, who is presiding over a state with different tribes and ethnic groups alleged that our Adamawa meeting was to discuss how to destabilize his state and possibly assassinate him.

That’s untrue and should be disregarded. He’s used to speaking against us, inciting his people against us, so we are surprised," he said.

"That allegation is unacceptable to us and we demand a thorough investigation to unravel the true situation. We have used all available media platforms to inform Nigerians that we were never behind the alleged attempted assassination of the governor, but he has continued to shout to the world that our people are behind the assassination attempt," Bodejo added.
