How to Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers to a Device

Updated: Jul 28, 2019

Bluetooth is taken over wireless speakers. Many people than before now own a Bluetooth speaker. It's actually a great deal as companies are manufacturing more innovative wireless Bluetooth speakers.

Connecting or been able to connect a device to one Bluetooth speaker is what we are all use to but getting that sound to multiple speakers was off the table until recently

Thanks to some innovations and apps it is now possible

Connect Using Windows

To use two Bluetooth speakers at once with Windows, you’ll need speakers that can pair with one another usually speakers of the same model or of different model but the same brand.

Firstly,

Enable Bluetooth on your computer.

Type on the search bar "bluetooth".

Click bluetooth and other devices setting

Slide the ″Bluetooth″ switch to On if it’s off.

Press the pairing button on the first speaker and wait a few moments for it to enter pairing mode.

Click + Add Bluetooth or other device.

Click Bluetooth

Click the speaker. It should automatically connect.

Once the first speaker is paired, pair the second speaker the same way.

Open your Windows audio settings by Typing audio into the search bar and Clicking on Manage audio devices.

Select Speakers and click Set Default

Note: If you aren’t able to click the ″Set Default″ button, the speakers are already set as your default audio output. Just skip to the next step.

Click the Recording tab. It’s the next tab after Speaker's tab

Right-click Stereo Mix. If you don’t see this option, right-click a blank area of the window, then select Show Disabled Devices. You should see it now.

Click Enable. This tells your computer to use stereo sound instead of mono.

Select Stereo Mix and click Set Default. A green and white check mark will now appear over ″Stereo Mix.″

Select Stereo Mix again and click Properties. It’s to the right of the ″Set Default″ button you clicked a moment ago.

Click the Listen tab. It’s the second tab.

Check the ″Listen to this device″ box.

Select your second speaker from the ″Playback through this device″ menu. This is the speaker that is not currently your default.

Click OK.

Click OK again. The audio settings are now closed.

Restart your computer. Once your computer comes back up, you should be able to listen to audio in stereo through both paired Bluetooth speakers simultaneously.

Connect Using Samsung's Dual Audio Feature

Newer models of the Samsung Galaxy have this Bluetooth Dual Audio which works with Bluetooth speakers and headphones (most)

To enable this feature:

Go to Settings then Connections and then Bluetooth.

Tap Advanced. In earlier Android versions, tap the menu icon on the top right.

Select Dual Audio and toggle the switch to on.

To use Dual Audio, pair your phone with two speakers, two headphones, or one of each, and audio will stream to both.

WARNING: Don't try to add a third cause the first paired device will be booted off.

If you link your Samsung with two sets of headphones, only the first connected device can manage playback using on-headphone media controls.

Apple has a similar feature called HomePod Stereo Pair. iPhones running iOS 11.4 or later can pair two HomePod speakers together.

Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers Using AmpMe

There are some apps you can use in connecting multiple Bluetooth devices including AmpMe, Bose Connect, and Ultimate Ears apps.

AmpMe is the most versatile, as it's not brand-specific, while the Bose and Ultimate Ears apps require the respective company's Bluetooth speakers. AmpMe is an app that you can use to play(sync) music or video.

Users can create or join parties on any of these platforms, and sync up with unlimited devices. Your smartphone can only connect to one speaker, so you'll need participation from friends and family to make it work.

The person who creates the party controls the music, but other users can send song requests via the app's chat feature.

The host can also turn on the Guest as DJ feature which lets other participants add songs to the queue.

After you download the app, you have to link it to either your Facebook or Google account, then you'll see if any of your contacts are on AmpMe, or you can turn on location services and find a party near you.

To start a party: Tap the Plus (+) in the bottom right.

Select the service (Spotify, YouTube, etc.), then tap connect.

Log into your account and choose or create a playlist.

You can invite people to your party who can join remotely, or you can invite them over.
